If you or a friend need urgent assistance, call 911 immediately, or take your friend directly to the emergency room. If you feel it’s safe, stay with your friend, or find someone to stay with them until help arrives.
This May, for Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re bringing people together in a powerful shared movement:
Take it personally.
Because in a world that can feel heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming,
mental health isn’t someone else’s issue.
It’s yours.
It’s ours.
And it’s something we can show up for—together.
We’re launching a public outcry for everyone to take it personally, to mobilize a shift in mindset and build a future where everyone feels seen, supported, and empowered.
One of the most effective ways to take mental health personally is to talk about mental health and how we care for it. MHC Champions are committed to using their voices and platforms to help destigmatize mental health.
Through content creation, events, campaigns, and community engagement, our Champions work together to raise awareness and help move the conversation forward around one of today’s most pressing public health issues.
Spread the word about how you take it personally.
Why is mental health personal to you? How do you support your own mental health, your loved ones, or your community?
Record a brief video, share a story, or simply leave a comment on our post.
However you choose to share, tag @mentalhealthcoalition and hashtag #TakeItPersonally, so we can help amplify your voice.
